Немного предистории. Сам я тружусь кладовщиком на складе. Нам приходит много продукции на Европоддонах, товар продаем а поддоны остаются, у нас встал вопрос куда их девать. Раньше мы их выкидывали. Потом мне подсказали, что за поддоны можно получить деньги. Начал звонить по фирмам везде были цены низкие, потом приятели мне подсказали, что в Челябинске есть такая Компания "Уралсклад", около 10 лет на Рынке Промышленной Тары с прекрасной репутацией. Я нашел их сайт в интернет - www.uralsklad.ru и позвонил по тел. +7(351) 233-07-14. Буквально через час подъехал их представитель, Авто с Логотипом "Поддоны Челябинск". Цены закупочные оказались самые высокие в г. Челябинске. Все цивилизовано грузчики загрузили Паллеты ешё и лом поддонов купили, расчитались на месте наличными. Про другие фирмы я узнавал либо Цены низкие, либо Бракуют много, да и денег от них не дождешься. Так что если у вас завалялись европоддоны, не торопитесь их выбрасывать, лучше обменяйте их на деньги.

i miss heroes, it was my faveorite show on tv
i loved watching the episode and then listening to your podcast to hear what you guys thought about it.
i think that every season of heroes was good in its own way and never went downhill in writing or anything!
although i can understand NBC cancelling it because its costing more money than its making, because thats just how business works, BUT i think that they should do a wrap-up finale if not a full new season, just for the fans, for NBC to show they actually care about the fans, because how they left off Volume 5 set up so many possibilities for where the show could go!

I have heard constructive criticism from both Graham and Joe, but honestly it is a Heroes podcast for people who love the show, they are not going to talk horribly about it, especially when it was the “in” thing to do. I listen to the Slash Film cast, and I swear they insulted Heroes in EVERY episode, the show had nothing to do with Heroes…

The guys are open to hearing what the fans liked and did not like about the show, and if you truly listened to the show you would know there was discontent about many of the episodes, remember the promo for Pass/Fail… I think I was so disgusted I emailed the guys, they did not like the promo either, they did not see the point of the scene. If they were fan boys it would have been “OMG it makes SO much sense!!” when it doesn’t

I like the idea of getting people to submit different ideas for the stories and how they could have gone. I like rewatching too.

I can take criticism and negative comments toward me if they were given. Examples: “I hate the sound of your voice” “You don’t know what you’re talking about” “You suck” (I think you get the point) Along with that I can take comments bashing Heroes. Really, how does it affect me if someone doesn’t like the show? It doesn’t and it shouldn’t. Will I defend it? Sure and that should go without saying.

In this instance I made the mistake of firing off a comment and focusing on your comparison to Lost. My true discontent is with you making false statements. You said (regarding the podcast) “NEVER made any negative comments” also “Its sort of bias because these guys were given certain perks like visiting the set etc.” – This is where I take issue and rightfully so in my opinion. As I stated above there are plenty of times throughout the show that I pointed out faults and issues that I had. In addition to that there was no bias because of “perks.” There’s a level of appreciation one has for a show much like I hear on ‘other’ podcasts. I’m not going to sit back while false information is posted on the site. That’s not fair to anyone… Keep in mind I was replying to two people at the same time as well. The post above yours seemed “troll like” but I shouldn’t even have gone there with it. My apologies for that.

You call my reaction to ‘criticism’ rude and uninviting but I put criticism and false information on two totally different levels. I typically don’t respond to natural criticism. I’m fully aware it’s part of the business and I’d be a moron to expect everyone to agree with me or even like me for that matter. I appreciate criticism as much as praise because of it’s value in helping me to grow and succeed.

If you took what I said personally I apologize. If there was anger in my post it was 100% a result of what appeared to be misguided information and not because you (or anyone else) doesn’t like Heroes. I love Lost as well and I want to reiterate my mistake of losing focus on my real issue; the two posts stating that we don’t ever talk badly about the show or that we’re bias because of perks. I can understand you firing back because my post wasn’t on point and was more of a knee jerk reaction.

Take Care and hopefully you can see my side as well. Not in the business of making enemies…

Joe, people compare LOST to Heroes simply because Heroes was the show that stole LOST’s thunder in its first season. They shared a lot of fans. LOST was struggling amidst an uneven third season while Heroes was picking up steam in the later episodes of Season One. Unfortuanately for Heroes, the first season finale disappointed PLENTY of fans (including me), while the final 5 episodes of LOST’s third season are considered some of the greatest hours of TV. Ever. I’m not here to “troll” but it is OBVIOUS that Heroes dropped the ball after the first season finale.

I don’t consider myself a troll. The debate began when Heroes first came out. What show would be better? LOST v. Heroes was ALL over the place. Even you can’t deny that. So if someone, like me, who clearly declared one show to be superior, wants to express their disdain for the other, don’t call them a troll. And as far as remaining subjective within the review portion of your show, I listened Joe, I did. And you know what, you have given some clear insights as to what went wrong within the hour.

However, running a site about a show that disappointed so many people means you have to put up with plenty of negative reactions. And to try to put someone down for comparing it to LOST is wrong. Every one and their mother knows that Heroes gained majority of its initial steam from LOST comparison. So try not to come off so bitter. If people love a show, they love a show. They are not Trolls. If someone dislikes something, they have every right to say it. This is a FAN-site after all, did you really think all of the former fans would just let it go? This is the very nature of internet blogging, podcasts, etc. It comes with the territory.

I don’t consider this a “WASTE” of energy, I guess every one on Sports Blogs ripping on losing teams are a “WASTE” in your eyes too.

I used to be a fan of Heroes, and now I am not.

I have every right to say it Joe.

You’re dedication is your own thing. That was never mentioned. I honestly could care less. But don’t come at someone for posting on your site. Even if it’s negative. Clearly not many people come on here any more any way. And this is one less person.

I will not be revisiting this site, nor the House of El podcast (which I actually enjoyed) because of your rude and uninviting reaction to criticism.

BSOL and mitsarugi- Those two posts show your complete ignorance to… well…. Our show for one but I’m sure it transcends into other things. If you really listened and knew what you were talking about there are PLENTY of times where we pointed out that we didn’t like parts of the show or entire episodes. Case and point was actually when Greg Grunberg showed up right smack dab in the middle of me bashing an episode. I normally don’t feed the trolls but you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

If people love a show, they love a show. There’s nothing you can say or any comment you can make that will change someone’s opinion. The fact that you WASTE your energy coming to Heroes sites to bring up Lost is beyond me… You think visiting the set is going to influence dedicating hours per week doing a live show and a podcast for free when we work full time jobs? Get real, you have no idea.

bsol, so true. Heroes podcasts, including this one, NEVER made any negative comments regarding the TERRIBLE direction this show went. Its sort of bias because these guys were given certain perks like visiting the set etc. The show sucked in the later seasons. No one can argue that. Kring and co. proved they had no idea how to sustain a show like this. The dialogue and storylines became blatantly unoriginal, instead of remaining subtle. Heroes will NEVER be remembered the way LOST will be. Heroes, fade away, thanks for the waste of time that was season 2…3…4…

To all the people that consider Heroes a noteworthy show. If you ever learn about story structure or character development, re-watch the beloved series and see just how poorly conceived each episode was the past few years. Its almost sickening to think people are going to pay money to watch this terrible excuse for superhero drama.

Hi. Caught the podcast this morning, Graham and Joe. I won’t weigh in on the cancellation of Heroes except to note your comments about NBC not understanding the nontraditional ways (DVR, download, Hulu, etc) in which viewers (myself included) were catching the show: ways that did not translate readily into Nielsen ratings. You had made these comments earlier also and I agree with you. Eventually the networks will create a working business model that incorporates all of those viewing streams that they can profit from but I don’t know how many other worthey shows have to die before that happens. In this regard Heroes became somewhat of a (failed from the business standpoint, perhaps) test case. Hopefully the next Heroes-like show that comes along will be more financially successlful (one hopes that the network and creators will get it right, next time)

I became a fan of Heroes during season 2 (Generations) and was very disappointed with season 4, especially the finale, so much so that I won’t be getting the DVD for that season (though I will listen to your release podcasts).

As for what you guys should do with the 10th Wonder going forward: how about a podcast episode (or series of episodes) in which you and us other listeners fans sketch out an episode that never got made, sort of with a “what if” slant (as in the Marvel Comic series)? It might be great fun to get some fans together and toss out ideas and sketch out a story much lke the writers must do when plotting the shows in real life. It might be a chance for people to talk about the things they alway wanted to see that Heroes never got around to.
You could also take one or more pivotal events in the show and specuate on who things might have worked out differently.

I’m listening to the podcast now, and looking back, remembering the lack of advertising for Heroes at the beginning of this previous season (the fact I had to log onto got-heroes.com and find out it was being moved to a 8 pm slot), makes me think maybe NBC was setting up the show to fail.

As for the mini series idea, I would love for the show to have some kind of closure. But I don’t think it’s going to happen anymore simply because many of the actors and crew have gone on to do different things. It would be harder to get them back together. (which I guess, leaves the show’s possible fate up to the fanfiction writers…). But if it does happen, I don’t want Tim Kring to write it. Bring back the people who made the show great to begin with.

Also, I think a Heroes re-watch would be awesome. I’ve actually been listening to past 10th Wonders episodes, and I’d love to hear from you guys, how you view past episodes now.

just wanted to let you know that this is the first podcast I have listened to of yours. I really enjoyed it. I hadn’t really been online much during the last 4 seasons that Heroes was televised so I wasn’t part of the community. I however did watch the seasons on dvd over and over. I think that with the news of Heroes being cancelled that more people are going to pick up the seasons on dvd and watch them and hope for a mini series to wrap up. So your thoughts on NBC waiting a while might be spot on as they watch the sales of the season dvds.

So I start iTunes and I see it beginning to download 2 podcasts, “oh cool” I think. Then I see one of them is 10th Wonder, and I’m like “…wha…ah, wow! ”. It’s been 5 months (according to the release dates on iTunes) so it was truly a surprise. I’ve almost forgotten about Heroes (although I check to see if there’s any news about it maybe once a month.) I’m really sad Heroes has ended, it will always be one of my favourite TV shows, but I’ve also heard about Tim Kring making a mini-series to wrap it up… Maybe you talk about this in the podcast, hrm, I’m gonna listen to it now..!

Maybe I’m naive, I’m from Australia and I don’t know a thing about how American TV works, but perhaps Kring would be able to move the show to Another Network? I know NBC is happy with 4-5 million viewers, but plenty of other networks would love numbers like this.

It could start with a mini series and if the numbers are great then perhaps it could continue on. Because besides Dexter, Heroes was the only reason I watch TV.

Heroes seasons 2 and 3 had some questionable writing, but season 4 was a dramatic improvement over previous seasons. imho, season 4 was the best content of the series. bsol, I’m assuming you came here because you used to be a fan of the show. So you owe it to yourself to check out Volume 5 “Redemption.” If NBC had cancelled Heroes after the season 3 finale, I wouldn’t have been surprised. I was so annoyed by the nonsensical writing and the downs syndrome decision to put Nathan in Sylar’s body! If NBC had cancelled it then, I would have said they did the right thing. But canceling it now after it’s best run on television? That’s even dumber than Mohinder turning into a scaly lizard monster and trapping Maya in a cocoon!

Wow, this is gonna be hard. I’ve been watching from season one and was never afraid to leave Heroes when the going looked bleak. I still need to pick up the final DVD and comic releases to bid it a fond farewell. I am also disappointed with the cancellation of FlashForward, and with the ending of Lost I feel as if television may never reach the kind of levels it has achieved in the past six or seven years. What will be the likes of next fall, I wonder?

@Bigman: the judge threw the suit out and ordered the people who filed to pay attorney fees. Obviously this judge understood that within the realm of comics, tv, movies, books, etc. there’s going to be overlaps and parallels that might look like plagiarism at face value but upon closer inspection, the overlap is just coincidence (and if I remember right Kring has said multiple times he does read comics or watch tv).

Really bummed about Heroes being cancelled. Personally I liked the last season. Maybe Heroes just set the bar too high for itself and could make the leap again. Still a great show overall. Hopefully the success of shows like Heroes and Lost will make networks take a gamble on other genres that they normally stay away from. Here’s hoping we get a wrap-up mini-series/movie/cool feature on the DVD. Good bye Heroes. You will be missed.

Heroes is finished because it’s stolen IP and we applaud those NYC artists that filed the copyright infringement lawsuit against this hack tim kring and NBC 4 years ago.
The lawsuit MALLERY V NBCU DOCKET# 09-999 will go before The U.S. SUPREME COURT on MAY 21, 2010.
This lawsuit caused Isaac Mendez to be written off the show and many of the show’s story line to change which caused the show’s story lines to become lame and confusing, causing the show to fail.
Don’t believe it, then where is Heroes today?
CANCELLED.
To many of us that work in the tv and film industry it is our prayer that the moron called tim kring will get exactly what’s coming to him.
He’s a pathetic loser and what he stole he could not keep and the show still failed.
THE TRUTH ABOUT WHY HEROES REALLY FAILED WILL SURFACE IN THE MEDIA VERY SHORTLY.

I am sadly disappointed in NBC. I’m thinking the fans are going to want it resurrected like Chuck or Jericho. Maybe an X-Files-like movie is in order. I’m not ready to wish Heroes off. Tim Kring had a five year plan and I want to see it through. I am deeply disappointed in NBC and for the first time, will make an effort to keep good TV on! If a fifth season comes to fruition, I’d like to see a tie into some of the season 1 and 2 story arcs. In the meantime, shame on NBC.

10th Wonder – you’re the first and possibly last podcast I’ve enjoyed. All of you, past and present, have done an outstanding job and I hope for all our sakes that it’s not over. Thank you for all you’ve done.

David H Lawrence is barely in the cast anyway, so his opinion on a finale event means very little to me, his tweets are usually just about his girlfriend and not much else. . I mean as of now the cast would have still been out doing other projects anyway, if they are called back to the show for a finale event, then they will probably come. Most them of them still live in LA, with the exception of the elusive ZQ who claims to have moved to NYC already….but I understand he was just being a goof.

Now on to the important stuff, THANK you guys for all of the work you did, I cannot even express my gratitude to you guys at the 10th Wonders and the cast and crew of Heroes. It was an amazing time and I got to meet a lot of great people.

I remember what you guys said on the podcast a few months back about how the Volume 6 preview in a way was an reboot/endpoint for the series. In a way perhaps it is better that it ended with their powers revealed to the whole world and that the subsequent events were not shown. The ending that was chosen in my opinion allowed the writers to end the some in clear way that harked back to the pilot but was also at fitting end.

Well, to say this announcement was a surprise or anything like that would be a lie. We all knew this would happen even as the show’s last season was going on.

I thought Heroes’ last season was an excellent final season. It was right up there with the first season, which was one of the best first seasons of a show that I’ve ever seen. The writing was great, the acting was great, the production was great. And the ending on the finale was a great way to leave the show, as it was then open to so many possibilities. In retrospective, doing another season moving on from that would have been a letdown to some faction of fans, as there are so many different directions you could go from there. So that’s a good way to end the show.

10th Wonder, I’ve loved your podcast. I first found out about it about halfway through Heroes’ first season. You’ve done a great job reviewing the episodes, and it’s been fun theorizing about future plot points. That’s what I’ve loved so much about Heroes, is the attention to detail and coming up with ideas about what will happen next. I’ll miss the personalities from your podcast; hopefully you’ll do other, equally good podcasts.

On one episode of my podcast (The RaT Project Live, TalkShoe ID 21129), my co-hosts and I discussed Heroes, what we thought worked for the show and where we thought it failed. It was a great episode.

Anyway, Heroes shall be missed, but perhaps this was the best time to end the show. The thing is, though, we’ll never know if the show was on its way to becoming even better, or if it would have just fallen apart with another season.

Rob -Uhm, do you ever watch Lost? I’m going go out on a limb and say that you do. I love both shows and can not understand this notion that L… Never mind, this is about Heroes. Sorry to assume anyway.

Oh Heroes! I will be crushed if this happens! It’s not a perfect show but it’s the show that I love. It entertained me from week to week and I can’t imagine it going away. How can anyone argue with people who say they love something? They’re my feelings. People can’t tell me what I can’t do (hehe). Removing Peter’s powers was one of the biggest mistakes in my opinion but i haven’t lost faith in the show. I will definitely be sending messages to NBC

It seems logical that moving Heroes to USA or Bravo (NBC Universal owned) makes more sense than canceling it altogether. As clearly established, Heroes has a vast and loyal following. It would be a shame to abandon those followers. I think Heroes would fit in great with USA’s “Characters Welcome” mantra. This move could take some of the ratings pressure it has from being in NBC’s primetime slot.

I loved season one of this show, but I’m sad to say I couldn’t even watch season 4.

Here’s something that could have saved this show and something all shows can learn from: Don’t do something if you don’t want it done!

Don’t kill a character if you’re just going to bring them back. Don’t give someone powers if you’re just going to take them away. Likewise, don’t take away powers if you’re just going to give them back.

I’m all for progress and evolving story-lines. When shows continuously keep doing things and undoing them I feel like they are betraying my trust in them. It makes anything they do in the future seem pointless since they have an established past of reversing coarse at any moment.

Once writers betray the trust of the audience like that, I don’t think there’s anyway to get it back.

I believe that the Nielsen ratings need to be overhauled to take in the new formats of viewing. It used to be that families would sit down in front of the TV as the only venue of entertainment coming into the home. Now with the age of technology as it is, families are watching these shows on the computer on their IPhones, and on dvd. I wonder if the numbers for Heroes would look differently when considering these different platforms of viewing? I like Heroes, I like that there was some character development. It wasn’t something that was done in a season and wrapped up in a pretty bow at the end of it. There are a lot more stories to be told with this program. I really hope that if it doesn’t stay as a line up that perhaps there would be some more special programming for the fan base that perhaps we would get some movies through out the next fall and spring seasons. Perhaps after some failed new series we could bring back the show in a season format again.

Everyone always talks about how a show does in the Nielsen ratings, but from what I can tell, it’s hardly a reliable system. Look at the original Star Trek. It was in danger of cancellation after the first season, but the fans united for a letter writing campaign, and NBC was flooded with about 29,000 pieces of fan mail in support of the series. And after the second season, (and a poor time slot change on NBC’s part), Star Trek was in danger of cancellation *again*, because of the Nielsen ratings, and *again* a massive letter writing campaign saved Star Trek with about 115,893 pieces of fan mail; and that doesn’t count the thousands of phone calls to the studio either. The point I guess I’m trying to make is that NBC should know by now that the Nielsen ratings don’t really properly reflect a show’s fan base. And after all the letters and emails and twitter campaigns we’ve seen in support of Heroes, I don’t understand how they don’t see that, and see that canceling Heroes is a mistake.

I am finding that there are a lot of new viewers to Heroes due to the box dvd sets. These new viewers have probably watched the seasons back to back to back and are awaiting season 4. With the economy, there are many families who don’t have the former viewing patterns we grew up with. People are working nights and are unable to watch live the programs or perhaps they have lost cable/satelite (sp?) to view tv at all. I know that I watch Heroes on Hulu because we do not have broadcast in our home. If there comes a time where viewing on our computers counts perhaps the ratings would look better? I am hoping that even if Heroes isn’t given more time, perhaps it would be able to have a couple of “made for tv” movies to finish up the Heroes journeys.

@Podge We’ve never been given the “Barbara” back story… That would be the 3rd one since Nikki/Jessica were the same person.

I still want to be clear here: (I should just update the story) I am in no way happy that this could possibly be the final season of Heroes. But… I AM happy that we could possibly have Heroes back for more episodes compared to Season 4 being the end and we’re only left with that finale.

A show like Heroes needs reruns in the summer for those who missed it during the regular season. People feel lost and feel they have to watch it form the beginning to understand whats going on. i really hope nbc gives heroes at least two season to finish it off,giving us just one season with 13 episode isn’t the best way to rap up to me one the best shows on tv,if we do get the 13 episode,you know its going to be rushed and no proper time will be put on developing a well deserved end to the series,maybe if a different network was in charge of heroes thing would be different.

If Heroes is to return for a final season, I would hope that it would be more than just 13 episodes. The dynamic of the character’s interactions with the “outside” world of abilities have changed greatly, and I would like to see character development that gives us something more thought out than just 13 episodes of wrapping up a series of an ensemble cast. We have just had 4 seasons of character development, I would love to have perhaps even a season and a half more with this new dynamic. Perhaps even bring back some of the characters who have “disappeared” from previous seasons to give them closure also.

I think it should come back but, also won’t shed a tear if it doesn’t. This shows has had 9 lives compared to better shows (Firefly) that have fallen under the axe. Its always seemed to me that the producers really didn’t know where to go after the first season. A few of the earlier characters that were kill off were the wrong choices and re-hashing of plots didn’t help either. That being said, I hope it does come back because there’s still some interesting things that could happen. I feel they really need new show handlers. Recently, I watched the Smallville “Justice Society” ep. and the fight they had with the Ice bad guy blows away 95% of the fights Hereos have ever shown. Even the hand to hand fights are better in Smallville. If Smallville can do those effects and battles with their cheap budget…then what’s up will hereos then? That is just another question for the producers of Heroes. I do want it to comeback…I just hope it’s worth watching if it does.

I think NBC will push through the new season solely on the premise that they will have 100 episodes for syndication
regardless of what anybody says I still love the show and hope it keeps going, as long as it can stay compelling (which I feel it can)

I think the reason we haven’t heard is because NBC hasn’t decided which of its new pilots to pick up. Once that is decided, if there is room for Heroes, then it may get renewed.

Hey Joe, good points made, but regarding the NBC/BBC2 marketing, I’m afraid BBC2 buy every episode for a fixed price before the season even begins here. At this point in time, where the deal has already gone through, there is no benefit in marketing to the UK.

SyFy is a natural, of course. The right market, the right audience. Support shows with smaller, but very devoted followings. Knows how to market to their base, and don’t expect a niche genre show to go up against House and beat it, after moving it around timeslots like a chess piece.

USA would be my second choice. Great source for original programming.

Thought 1: Why not do another season then jump into DVD movies (ex. BSG, stargate). Heroes does very well in other media and this seems like a good thing to transition intofor heroes. in movies, they could focus on one or two known charaters and introduce new characters.

Thought 2: if cancelled, would SyFy be an option for picking up the series? I think they would jump all over the opportunity to have heroes.

I definitely have to agree with Joe on this one. The simple fact that the executives over at NBC have been relativley quiet has to say something one way or the other. At this point NBC is sort of in a bad place when it comes to their marketing after a big key decision at the start of the year so I’m fairly sure that they are going to be keeping their lips sealed until what they think is the perfect moment to announce their plans.

Something that I think would help their cause is the fact that “24″ one of “Heroes” biggest competitors is ending its run on television after 8 seasons. NBC would be wise to try and find a way to market the show to the people that watch “24″ because the shows are alike with the volume layout, single days for 24 and the episodes for Heroes. Both shows have great actors and it wouldn’t shock me if they tried to pull some of them away from FOX to come over to NBC, they did it once before with Robert Knepper and that worked out fairly well.

As for a direction, well we know that Tim Kring pitched an idea and that the executives heard it so we have to hope that it must have been decent or they would have decided the show’s fate a long time ago.

I am just going to wait like everyone else and cross my fingers that the show gets renewed [PLEASE NBC RENEW HEROES ]

@Syclone – I did consider them staying mum so they wouldn’t lose UK fans as well but they really wouldn’t have much to lose. I’m sure that a majority of the commercial spots are already spoken for and it would be stupid for NBC/BBC2 (whoever is making that decision) to not have taken advantage of the extra $$ they could have earned by promoting “The final 4 episodes” – Commercial spots probably would have been worth more money.

@BenMech I can’t say that season 4 jumped any sharks, it was a very different season. I think any “serialized” story is going to benefit from an end date. I personally think Lost has done quite well and if anything there’s not enough time to close it out. Just my thoughts…

@Darrius It would be terrible if the fans didn’t get anything from that giant setup at the end of Volume 5 and I think there’s new and interesting stories to tell. I like the idea of starting Season 5 off in the future, just not sure how much it will resemble “5 years gone” but that’s a great concept that I think we talked about in the finale.

At this point, i just want more Heroes. Two, 14-16 episode seasons would be ideal for me.

While the 4th season turned out a gigantic disappointment, jumping the shark over and over again, it makes sense that NBC is thinking in terms of finality.

Having a fifth season designed to close the book once and for all before the season begins can only be a good thing. However, if written and acted poorly, it could be another “Lost”

I really like the ‘5 yrs gone’ direction… just as a thought about peter what if he appeared as one of the few original characters with the purpose to regain his original power. One of the things he would have to do – they all would have to do – is to go back in time to fulfill what we have seen in the past so that the show’s history remains the same. On one of these errands Peter could mimic himself thus regaining his original ability.

I personally don’t know how close they have to be to effect Samuel but he didn’t seem to lose any power until Hiro teleported them meaning it could be quite a distance, when we saw him use his power to sink buildings before we don’t know how far the carnival was.

Probably a good analogy Serge. Here’s my thought on Samuel’s power…It was described that each special has a “magnetic force” (for lack of a better phrase). If you bring a plain piece of iron near a magnet it picks up that field and extends it, making it a bit stronger. Add more magnets, the iron bar becomes an even stronger magnet. Samuel collected the specials at his carnival, keeping them together and in close proximity to one another thereby increasing the strength of the field. He is the iron bar, focusing and expanding that force field. Only the writers know how far that force could carry when you have a group of specials that large and concentrated. Ultimately, we don’t know where Hiro took them or if he left them together in a group. It’s reasonable to envision that at a certain point, even if still together, the field would fall off and be “out of reach” for Samuel. Just the four or five specials around likely don’t generate enough of a force to really be demonstratable compared to what he could do just a few moments earlier.

Here’s my stab at it.

You ever bench pressed before? You know how, after completing your sets, your muscles are tired and too weak to do another? Sometimes, you can be too weak to even lift the bar after having removed the weights. It is why you need someone to “spot” you as you work out.

Samuel had gotten used to having a huge number of specials around him. The specials became a crutch for his power. However, when all of that immense power was just taken from him from under the rug, he, unlike you or I at the gym, did not have a “spotter.”

So, although under normal circumstances Samuel could easily sink a building no problem, because he had been working out his powers so much but no longer had either a crutch or a “spot,” he could not do the terrakinesis equivalent of lifting the bar without its weights.

anybody read the graphic novels or watch the sprint webisodes or anything extracurricular to cover up the GAPING plot hole of samuel losing all his power when the carnies left? anyone? please. if there’s an explanation we’d like to hear it. he sunk a police station and a mansion all by himself (and in the mansion episode he went so far as to tell lydia he was going into the city, right? so the carnies weren’t w/ him)
i mean, they showed all season samuel’s got powers with or without specials around him. hell, he was able to go one on one with guys (his bro, sylar, parkman/HRG–to save his girlfriend) yet he loses his power when all the other carnies are gone? dude peter freakin’ petrelli’s still there, that’s 1 special. WTF? hell, sylar and doyle are still at the carnival when all the other carnies were teleported out, what’s up w/ that?
i don’t nitpick but this is kind of a big deal. this is the payoff for 19 episodes’ worth, and it just seems like lazy writing.

So, if Heroes does come back (which I hope it does, unlike Scrubs) I will watch next season. I felt that up until the last 3-4 episodes of the season, Season 4 was just awesome (except for Claire, as someone said earlier Tim, “Kill your Darlings”).

I didn’t think the finale was strong compared to any of the seasons, but it worked. I’m not saying the finale was horrible as I was getting hounded about it right after the show ended. You know who you are (T).

I think plenty of things that could have happened would have made a better story, such as Noah dying. I like Noah, but it would have made a stronger story. Peter being able to get a copy of his original ability.

As far as my comments go, for those who may think I’m a hater or even that others are just because we haven’t been satisfied with this or prior seasons, . . in your view that can be a valid opinion. Not everybody will share the same vision, feelings and wants for a show’s direction – isn’t that entertainment and the world working as usual. I follow the show because, even though I believe it’s stumbled here and there from season to season, I hope that the next show, the story arch, and season will be as bright and inspiring as the promise of the 1st season. I haven’t quite gotten to dumping it, and feel I have an opinion to express, like you, about what I see when I watch this show. If it were total rubbish, there’s no sense in following or commenting, so maybe my passion isn’t hating but a sadness and an expressed desire, that unfortunately may and will clash with those who see things as fine as-is. In the world of entertainment, that pretty much means, “get your own production company, money, and do your own show exactly as you see fit” resolution . . . . then I could bring back some canceled series . . . but I digress.

If it’s fair game to grade a season, I’d grade this season a B- (with some good interactions with family members, but lacking in the action and a few too many diversions from the main focus with a somewhat anti-climatic end). So yes, I do want another season, if the premise sounds interesting.

I think that I might be able to address some of the questions people have:

goGo – I actually went back and watched the season 1 finale before watching the season 4 finale. If you remember in the season 1 finale everyone was in a central location Kirby Plaza. It took lots of people to take down Sylar. Hiro stopped Sylar, Niki bashed Sylar over the head and even Matt tried to get in on the action. But it was the one thing that you bashed all other seasons for that they also used in season 1. When Peter got out of control and no one could stop him Nathan flew in to save the day. I think I would call that using a character with a narrative crutch to get the end that the writer’s wanted. With Samuel I personally think the peril with him was that he was a ticking time bomb. All it would have taken was for one person to say the wrong thing and do you remember the part when he started to split the ground in Central Park, he just didn’t get a chance to finish.

Mastarks – At that point Peter still had the telepathy power from Matt when he went into Sylar’s head thus closing that plot hole for you.

GorgeousMan – the Jeremy story line issue: Perhaps Samuel brought the Carnival close to him because at one point Samuel wanted Jeremy to live with them. And about the whole season 1 issue, I loved it too but when you put those episodes against some of the better episodes this season ie Brother’s Keeper, Strange Attractors, Shadowboxing, Art of Deception, and Brave New World I think that we will definitely remember those. This season had a lot of great moments just like season 1 had and I almost think that they followed the same sort of formula of How to Stop an Exploding Man in Brave New World. Everyone was apart for as long as possible and then they slowly started to come together in Central Park at the Carnival which was some fantastic material. The writing has been great this season and they seem to be actually following through on a lot of stuff: Claire is actually at a point in her life where she is OK with her ability, people have to realize that she is an 18 year old, kids go through lots of changes until they find what they feel they are supposed to be doing. Heroes has done essentially what everyone wanted them to do, go back to the season 1 formula and they have done that dare I say even taken the show in a new direction. I think if the show was given another season then perhaps they would be able to tell new short stories with new characters and gain back some fans. I wouldn’t even mind going back to the Origins story line, lots of new characters in little individually contained episodes.

It’s a shame to see LOST and Smallville so good in their late seasons while HEROES has just been poopy since season one’s finale.

Why didn’t Hiro just take Samuel away from the Carnival instead of taking the Carnival away from Samuel? That was BEYOND DUMB.

And are they seriously messing with the Going Public angle again?

Count me out.

PLOT HOLES:

How did Eli get from LA to NY in 10 minutes?

How did Tracy and Noah’s old partner figure out that he and Claire were buried alive? (and wow, it was the cliffhanger from the penultimate episode…so lame)

How did Hiro have brain surgery and no bandages?(healed by his mom in his head?…lame)

How did Samuel use his powers earlier in the season when no one was around?

THIS SHOW IS DEAD.

I also want to add that I have a lot of respect for Joe and Graham and I respect any opinions they have regarding the show. I have been a follower of this podcast since it started. It may have been one of my first podcasts ever downloaded to be honest.

You guys put out great stuff every episode and I really wish that we could stay on the same page. I just needed Heroes to retain a certain level of quality. It did not. It has dwindled beyond repair. Sorry, and thanks.

A BRAVE NEW WORLD:

I was completely disappointed by the finale. Sylar’s turn into a hero is almost a joke considering how much they have jumped around with him in the past 3 seasons. That character is officially dead in my book.

Samuel’s defeat was absolutely anti-climatic and flawed. He lost his power when everyone left?…but he was alone when he sunk that house…and destroyed the police station…PLOT HOLE?

The way they wrapped up the Charlie story was quite an easy write around for the actress being busy. Although, the whole return of The Waitress storyline never should have happened in the first place.

A BRAVE NEW SHOW:

This season has been so insulting to me. As an avid follower of Heroes, I have long waited for a good storyline that carries over long spans of episodes. Instead, I was treated to a half episode reason for the show’s greatest character to turn good. The entire plot of season one was introduced in the first 2 episodes. And it was followed through upon.

I have always followed Heroes through good and bad. The first season is very close to my heart and I lived through seasons 2 and 3 with hope but I can now say that I am done with Heroes.

Tim Kring & Co. have proven that they cannot sustain a level of quality that is neccessary to follow a great first season. They have failed. 3 seasons now. They have failed.

So why am I on Heroespodcast.com and saying all these negative things? Well, someone needs to know. I was once one of those people who said “everyone who left is going to regret it”. Well I’m officially behind any decision to cancel this show.

Both the acting and writing on this show have gone down the slumps.

NBC and Tim Kring should seriously be ashamed of what they deliver to devoted fans. There is no excuse anymore. I was fine with the Sophmore Slump, depressed by the Junior Year, and now I have graduated from this terrible terrible Senior Year with hopes that maybe I’ll find a new show that can take away this bad taste in my mouth.

I have shared this show with one of the most important people in my life. We have watched every new episode as it airs. Two nights ago, we turned to eachother and realized that this show is dead. It has run its course.

Like a bad break up, this show was once great, it dwindled away and there was hope, but in the end, it just didn’t work out.

My suggestion to Tim Kring: Please put your mind on something new. Make something that you can be proud to put your name on. Mr. Kring, this series is dead.

Stephen King’s most successful method of writing is “Kill Your Darlings”.

Had Noah died in this episode, this would have been much more effective.

Had ANYONE died in this episode, this would have been much more effective.

Mr. Kring, in your next series, please..Kill Your Darlings.

Heroes is a lot like Nathan Petrelli. It dies every season and yet keeps coming back. Except this time. This time it’s going to stick.

Goodbye Heroes, whether you’re done or not, it is now clear that the Heroes I knew died a long long time ago.

I was a bit disappointed with the season finale, disappointed with the pacing and payoff of the entire season. I liked the Claire and HRG stories, liked the Hero saga to reunite with his love but hated the break and pacing of that plotline. Sad to see Nathan gone, but kind of happy that his essence seems to be a part of Gabriel. Would have loved to see the trapped in Sylar/Gabriel’s mind played off longer onscreen to develop the audience bond and acceptance. But at the end, it just felt meh at the finale. Maybe just use to having the threat spelled out early, and can see people working towards the end goal. Samuel wasn’t clear cut until towards the end.

And I definitely did not feel the ‘epic’ battle of the fight scene between Samuel and Peter. Pushing dirt back and forth, and the big stopper, pulling the power out of the fight by removing the ‘batteries’ (carnival folk).

It was ok. I’d have to hear the treatment for the next season to develop enthusiasm.

I was disappointed in this finale. My opinion, every Heroes finale with the exception of the first season has been a letdown. Everybody with the right power is always there when needed to plug that plot hole. It felt rushed, no dramatic tension in the episode except the Clare & HRG scenes. And to have the menace & dread of Samuel reduced to lets get Hiro to take the specials away and then he’s helpless (yes I know that’s his achilles heal, but that was a little too simple). That’s it? where’s the peril? I didn’t feel that anyone was truly in any danger. A few minutes (if that) battle with Peter? It’s funny that the one character I have any attachment to is the one without a power, HRG. I still like the show but don’t love it.

Heroes is Out of the Coffin! This episode was great in the final moments in the carnival but everything before that was like, “Okay, moving on?” one thing that I noticed was how neatly it was wrapped up in the Volume 6 teaser I can almost see that as a decent end to Heroes. Also it’s great that it was Claire who reveals the secret as apposed to when we first met Claire she wanted nothing but to keep it all a secret. If Heroes gets a new season, I’d like to see a Flashforward with Claire acting as a more Angela-esque spokesperson for Specials. also, what if, The series is actually Sylar’s journey to becoming a hero. He’s been part of the series from the begining and from the begining of the show we’ve been teased that this is the begining of the character’s quests to becoming heroes

I just rewatched the episode again, and something weird happened that made me think maybe the whole Peter thing isn’t completely out. When Matt won’t tell them where Samuel is, Peter says he’ll have to find out for himself. He turns toward Eli, who spins on the ground (through TK, but Sylar isn’t even looking that way) and then Peter does his Telepathy thing. Could be something there, maybe not.

I really hope they renew Heroes its such a good show. What other show is like it? The music, the moments, the lines it. Each seasons makes another wonderful volume. Just the concept alone. Former fans should really give it another try instead of falling into this trend of bashing heroes even when it is good.

I’m hoping that it isn’t Volume 4 all over again. I’d agree there’s the potential for it to follow the same ‘hunted’ storyline, but I’m hoping they’re smarter than that. There are a lot more options with this direction

No really, I was more disappointed in myself for not putting 2 and 2 together about Peter flying until after the live show. I’m surprised nobody even mentioned it but of course he had the flying power at that time, how else did Peter and Sylar get to New York that fast?…… doh!

Still loved the last 15 minutes of that episode! Let’s hope it’s not the last episode ever for Heroes.

This would have made a great series finale. Everything was wrapped up (basically we’re left with Caitlin and Uluru), all the storylines have been done before (even the public thing- we’re just going to see volume 4 over again), and it ended with a reference to something from the previews of season 1- this is how you end something. It’s really pretty good. It’s not getting may sweeps, it’s ratings have been the lowest ever, yeah. If they keep going, I think it will be much, much worse.

#SaveHeroes was the #1 trending topic in most US cities for a couple of hours. It was #1 in Canada and the UK for many hours and trending worldwide for about 3-5 hours. I was trying to follow it throughout the day and many people took screen captures showing it trending for a long time. I was really surprised at how it spread like wildfire and people around the world were taking notice of it.

I hope that tonight, we can just see Heroes or #Heroes trending since the show isn’t canceled and the point was made.
