Tim Kring Outlines Potential Mini-Series
We’ve all been waiting anxiously to see what (if anything) would come of the Heroes cancellation. While we hoped we’d get a solid indication right after the up fronts, we were still left wondering if we had seen the last of Heroes. Well we’ve got some good news and some potential bad news. Let’s just start off with the good news. Tim Kring has outlined his idea for a wrap-up mini series that involves a one year time jump, Claire as the spokesperson, some of our specials exposed while others hide, and the big kicker; somehow bringing back the beloved Adrian Pasdar. I’d like to point out it won’t be in the form of Nathan Petrelli and I’m not really sure how that will work. Now the bad news. Tim Kring is confident that all the cast members are on board for this, but it can be very very tough to bring back a cast of this size while they’re trying to move forward with their careers. Additionally, NBC still needs to green light this project and that’s the biggest hurdle. NBC hasn’t had the best track record as of late and it could be difficult for them to fund the event (no pun intended). We’d like to remain optimistic and NBC did say they would like to appease the fans, but it’s pretty tough to bring something together in these kinds of situations. So far NBC has not commented on anything but keep your fingers crossed! You can read the full story at TVGuide.com “Is there Power Left in Heroes”

Sounds good! hope nbc has the money (and the balls) to fund this epic project!
Hmmm, Adrian Pasdar is back. On the one hand, I’m really really excited. On the other, I don’t want another Niki/Jessica/Tracy/Barbara purée
That is the best news I’ve heard all day. I’m guessing if Adrian comes back, the writers will find a way to to make him a different character. Like what they did with Ali Larter after Nikki died.
If this is what Tim pitched to NBC as the final season and they rejected it, I’m beyond disappointed. This is exactly what I wanted!!! This better get picked up by NBC.
The only way I can think that Adrian would come back but not be Nathan would be Sylar shapeshifting all over the place. Of course this has been done and it wouldn’t be so interesting to relive the events of Volume 5.
COME ON HEROES!!! YOU CAN DO IT!! WE NEED CLOSURE!!! THIS SOUNDS AWESOME!!! GO HEROES!!! LONG LIVE HEROES!!! YATTA!!!
I am just waiting to hear that there is a green light for this project before I get overly excited. I am however excited to hear about this project idea. I was hoping that Mr Pasdar would return in some role. I think it will be awesome. Looking forward to whatever magic Heroes the miniseries can produce. (ps: let Sylar have some functional love in his life!)
Maybe I’m naive, I’m from Australia and I don’t know a thing about how American TV works, but perhaps Kring would be able to move the show to Another Network? I know NBC is happy with 4-5 million viewers, but plenty of other networks would love numbers like this.
It could start with a mini series and if the numbers are great then perhaps it could continue on. Because besides Dexter, Heroes was the only reason I watch TV.
Fingers Crossed for this.
the following statement by NBC’s Tim Kring – the “destroyer” of “Heroes,” was posted on the internet.
On that post, Mr. Kring stated, in part, as follows about how he “created” “Heroes”:
In Hollywood they say if Hitler wrote a great screenplay they’d send a limo to the airport to pick him up. . .
Great creativity comes from everywhere, I was flubbed [before] and I didn’t just want a show on the air, I wanted something big, bold, and wanted to prove them wrong.
Only problem was I didn’t have an idea, so I was just left angry and worried about it. . . . I lied and cheated and schemed and manipulated all the way through the idiocy that is the notes process when you do this, was able to push the production through relatively unscathed and in the form that it would work in. . . . That’s how Heroes got on the air. . . .
It’s not the most original idea in the world, you build and borrow.
Just put these pieces together in the right way, at the right time, and on the right network.
