Heroes not likely to return before Fall

Oh, we hate to break bad news! Months ago we said that we felt if the strike didn’t end before an opportune time, that Heroes would likely be out of luck for coming back until the Fall. We have now learned that Heroes was able to finish the production of three episodes before the strike stopped everything cold. Now that the strike is essentially over, the big question of, “Will Heroes return?” has resurfaced, and Tim Kring has provided an ominous answer to Entertainment Weekly:

”With a show like Heroes that’s so strongly serialized, and given what we wanted to accomplish with the new storyline, to come back with just three episodes could be creatively dangerous.”

Though no one has said anything definite about when we’ll be seeing new episodes, Kring’s comments are a good indication that the likelihood of Heroes coming back before Fall is quickly diminishing.

    Sounds like this would be a good time for some of those Heroes Origins stories. Those were supposed to be standalones. They should put together 4 or 5 of those to air in April and May. That would tide us over a little until Fall.

    Eonline is reporting that Kring instead wants to work on the Heroes bible, which will map out the show’s direction for years to come. They are also reporting that we might get episodes sooner than September (late August).

    As much as this saddens me we won’t get any new Heroes episodes until the fall, I would rather get strong episodes that are well made than crappy episode with bad CGI because the fans instead in hurrying up. So I guess I can wait…

    but what about those unfinished episodes? they had material from at least two unaired episodes. are they still going to use those scenes? they looked good.
