Heroes season finale will feature new Heroes!
From SCIFIWire:
Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming season finale will introduce new characters that will become central to the story in the second season. “There are several new characters coming in the immediate future,” Kring said in an interview. “The idea of the show from the start was always to basically honor the origin story of the first sort of blush and discovery of these powers. And so, in order to do that, new characters will have to be cycled into the show. And by extension, older characters will cycle out of the show.”
While the first year of the show was subtitled “Volume One: Genesis,” the second season will be called “Volume Two: Generations.”
“The idea of multiple generations has started to crop up on the show,” Kring said. “And in the second season we will deal with that more, hence the title, ‘Generations. … The idea was that we wanted to make it easy for viewers to be able to come on in the second season. And we thought if we wrapped the show too tightly around itself so that you had to watch 23 episodes before, I would be harder for new viewer to find the show. And we always want to be a show that has the barrier of entry low enough so that new viewers can join if they want.”
Kring confirmed that the show will indeed end on a cliffhanger, but one that hopefully won’t be frustrating for the viewers. “No, I think it’ll be intriguing more than frustrating,” he said. “The idea was to end one idea of the show, one story, and then slingshot you into the next season.”

Yes!
I had doubts about the 2 hour finale, because so many people said it was one hour, and now it’s been confirmed by the Man himself!
Thank you Tim Kring!

Great, now I have to tell all these people down in 9thWonders that the finale is still one hour…
They (and I) will be very dissapointed….
Oh well… as long as the episode is still amazing, I don’t care!

That’s a bummer about not getting our two hour finally but I am happy to see that they will be wrapping up this season with the finale and starting fresh next season. That way I won’t be totally left without closure, although I’ll still be crying myself to sleep at night on Mondays throughout the off season!

Im hopin that the finale is “commercial-free”…A full 60mins has to be devoted to fit everything in there.

If wishes were horses we’d all ride away. Thye finale will have ads and likely feature the Graphic novel and 360 characters, right?
Also, the creators are geeks too, and have said dvd will have extras, they want to bridge seasons of the mythos.
