“Fallout” Trailer Analysis

Welcome to our newest feature disguised as a common feature here on our website. I, Tucker C., will be bringing you my exceedingly special analysis of every new trailer for the hit NBC show “Heroes.” Spoilerphobe’s beware! This post may contain some significant and spoiler laden observations!

FALLOUT: THE MOTHER OF ALL TRAILERS!!!

Finally, a little team work! It would appear as though all the Heroes (except perhaps Matt and Ted) have all come together in New York City. But perhaps it’s all for naught. Let’s rewind a little, shall we?

From now on, I’m going to put my own interpretations in (Italics and parentheses) just so nothing gets confusing.

First, Hiro and Ando finally meet Isaac Mendez. Isaac seems to be getting off a bus; we really don’t know his destination (or where he meets Hiro & Ando), and we don’t know how it all gets re-routed back to New York, other than perhaps the fact that Hiro knows the time is near for the explosion to occur in Manhattan. The next thing we get to see is Peter sitting at a table in a police interrogation room. Claire has just finished talking to him when she says to him “You’re totally my hero.”

Sylar (or Gabriel “Sylar” Gray) is being held by Mr. Bennet in a room that must not be to Sylar’s liking. (Clearly Mr. Bennet keeps calling Sylar either Mr. Gray, or simply “Gabriel”) Sylar makes sure that all who watch him through the one-way glass know that he prefers to be called “Sylar.”

We join Niki/Jessica in the woods (Probably not far from where she took the pot shot at D.L.) something or someone has her taken aback. Now, we see later on in the trailer that D.L. is still alive, so perhaps she is taken off-guard by D.L. standing right in front of her? We’ll see.

Mohinder, seemingly back in New York and at the big board, seems to have a name from his new list written on a little green Post It note.

All of the Heroes end up in New York together, except perhaps Matt and Ted (as Ted is “at large”), and we know it’s going to be difficult for you guys, because it sure as hell is going to be for us, but someone on the show appears to be leaving JFK style. Back and to the left, know what I’m saying?

Anyway, excellent, excellent trailer this week. Now, next week’s episode is the last until January 22, 2007. So savor the flavor and be sure to catch all the action on “The 10th Wonder.” We’ll have plenty to discuss.

I’m a Canadian Hero watcher and so our trailer is different BUT at the very end Hiro makes the comment of ‘how do we stop someone from blowing themself up?’ (or something along that line). Of course, that’s all I can recall.
    TOODLES

I say bye-bye Ted. I can’t wait until the next episode.

If you watch the Canadian Trailer (global tv) you will see that Matt is also in “NYC” with Niki, Micah, DL, running and he’s holding up a hand against Peter like he wants him to stop.

Definitely look for the Global version next time you do this commentary. I think the Global trailer is so much more telling than the NBC version.

    Melissa,
That is very interesting that there’d be so much difference between the two trailers; you are right the Global trailer is much more revealing. Our trailer analysis is going to primarily be from the America trailer (because that’s what TiVo is grabbing for us) but we will certainly start taking the Global version of the trailer into account when we do our next one.

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Wow!

So, I wonder if Micah has additional powers. Since we see DL in NY, we knew that Jessica didn’t kill him. However, Micah is shaking DL’s prostrate body and begging him to get up. Tie that in with Jessica/Nikki’s reaction of seeing someone before her, it makes you wonder what has just happened.

Of course, the previews could be hinting at something that is taken wildly out of context. For instance, perhaps DL is only shaken by a bullet traveling through his phased body at supersonic speeds (sort of like whiplash, but not) and Micah is reviving him (which he succeeds at.)

I guess the question I have is what is Sylar planning on doing to Eden? It looks like for a split second he’s punched through the glass and Eden’s face is all bloodied.

Is he going to remove her powers and add them to his already mighty list of abilities, is he going to destroy her for humiliating him (he seems to severly dislike being bested by people,) or is he going to mess her up and leave (because he was being chased, or as a message to the others?)

I wonder why Matt is in New York too, and furthermore, I wonder why Nikki/Jessica, DL, and Micah are also. Could it be more likely that Peter has somehow arrived on the West Coast?

Could this show, be any more awesome? Who’s betting on who’s dying?

  6. Trevor says:

my guess is that peter dies, because hes around all the heroes at once and the power of absorbing all that is to overwhelming. either peter dies, or hes going to be the ultimate hero at the end of the episode, we’ll see

  7. Chair says:

maybe its going to be Ted, or maybe one of the twins (Nikki/Jessica)

  8. Paul says:

My guess is we get a flash forward to the time of the explosion in NYC. A Vision??? I find it hard to beleive they’re all in New York, including Matt who is acting as a cop even though he works in LA. Plus I think there are spoilers of Matt’s first meeting with Claire and Peter being in a few episodes, so I doubt they would all end up in New York by the end of Mondays episode.

  9. Ben says:

we’ve already seen that Issac was killed in the future. And that hiro’s going back to the past doesn’t mean he can change it, so. . . what if it is Issac that dies?

Sylar excapes Mr. Bennet, takes Issac, goes to NY, needs a place to hide out, chooses Issac’s loft, and then kills him there. Sounds possible?

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Micah heal DL. Micah somehow mysteriously fixed the out-of-order pay phone (and used it without paying), so whatever his ability is, it allows him to manipulate and repair machines through some sort of telekinesis without prior knowledge of how they work. The human body is just a complicated machine made of flesh instead of metal, so it’s reasonable to assume that he might be able to fix DL after Jessica shoots him.

  11. Cheeze says:

    To Trever,

The futer Hiro told Peter that he didn’t recognize him without a scare on his face. So far no scare, so I don’t think it will be him. I still think it will be Ted. I and I think a cop or fed will be the ones to kill him. They think he has access to nuke material.

    Man what a good show.
